I like hands and the idea of reaching into something unknown. I like the implication of touch and portrayal of that feeling whether comfortable or not.
About Me
- Shannon Drowne
- I am fascinated with information that cannot be seen or easily extracted, like the mind containing memories and information that is obscured. Natural elements, seeds, cells and microscopic images only show a portion of information. The human body also stands as a metaphor for the container, taking in social constructs and gender roles prevalent still today. My work makes comments on these factors heavily relying on autobiographic information and domesticity.
