I am fascinated with information that cannot be seen or easily extracted, like the mind containing memories and information that is obscured. Natural elements, seeds, cells and microscopic images only show a portion of information. The human body also stands as a metaphor for the container, taking in social constructs and gender roles prevalent still today. My work makes comments on these factors heavily relying on autobiographic information and domesticity.
very curious about this one, I wish it was a little bigger in the large view so i could see what was going on in there. does it have stitching in it?
ReplyDeleteNo stitching, just encaustic.
ReplyDeleteAt first I thought it was titled "steamed" and thought I seen a lobster in there...;-/
ReplyDeleteWe tend to try to associate things with abstract imagery...but the real question is do you like it?
