I couldn't think of a name for this one. Sometimes they immediately come to me, in this case no. I started an entire series on dolls and our cultures fascination with them, in particular with Barbie, and how that plays on our self image. I created faceless, misshaped dolls and let my nieces play with them. I was surprised by their seeming lack of response, theatrical acting, and exaggerated display of emotion. In some cases, this collage displays these aspects of my experiment.

One more recent.  In this one I found some text from a book unrelated to the subject matter in this piece.  It's great how thing can be taken out of context and distorted.

This piece was done in response to loosing our little girl.  All the newspaper clippings are from that time and about the month beyond.

I like hands and the idea of reaching into something unknown.  I like the implication of touch and portrayal of that feeling whether comfortable or not.

"Uncertainty" (?)  I'm still up in the air about this title.

As you can see, many of these collages contain elements from previous finished prints.  I enjoy manipulating the imagery, altering the intention with new combinations originally not perceived.

"Over There" is a mix of relief collaged to monotype.  2009, same date as many of my newer collages, I was really on a roll.  Gotta get back into the swing of things!

Spring is here again, time to start collecting, finish the ceiling in  my studio.

Chance Operations was part of a recent exchange.  This image is of a proof from that edition, you can see the blotchy spots in the relief portion.  Also included in this image is a layer of monotype and screenprint. 2009

Pick Me Up is monotype and relief with graphite drawing also create this year.  This one has been in the works for about 3 years, just couldn't figure out how to complete it.

Two Right Feet, created recently (2009) is a collage with screenprinting layers, relief and monotype.

Jeremy and I lost Kashmire this past Saturday (she is pictured with me).  It's been a really difficult week, starting with last Monday.  I've had a hard time completing tasks because she infiltrates my every thought.  Perhaps this means artwork will become about her...
